Energy Limiting Conditions – University of Liverpool
This animation summarises some of the key findings from a research project looking at gendered experiences of health and social care for people with Energy Limiting Conditions or Chronic Illnesses. It outlines the impacts that medical disbelief has on people’s lives and some of the ways in which forms of discrimination such as sexism, racism, homophobia and transphobia play a part in this. The research was commissioned by Dr. Bethan Evans, University of Liverpool, and her project team spanning Liverpool Hope University and Chronic Illness Inclusion. Sometimes when I am booked on multiple projects, it becomes necessary to enlist the help of other animators. In the case of this animation, I was lucky enough to bring on Ell Rose of https://fourfooteleven.com/. After working with Bethan and team on the script, I storyboarded and created the artwork and assets for the animation before passing it on to Ell to get things moving. It was a wonderful collaboration all around and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work on important projects like this, even when my schedule is spread thin!
