Cemetery Rites Animation – University of Reading

This animation was commissioned by Professor Avril Maddrell, a social and cultural geographer at the University of Reading.  The animation explores Cemeteries and Crematoria as public spaces of belonging and outlines why the respect and accommodation of varying burial and cremation needs is important in multicultural societies.  We chose a muted colour pallete and a micro lens, focusing on small and intimate moments of meaning-making to represent communal yet personal experiences around loss, ritual, and belief.
